Description
Designed specially for riders who use their Pan America primarily as a Sport Touring machine. We build the Dual Touring saddle up with maximized seating platforms and support, the same way we do with the Bagger models. This makes the Pan America a formidible high mileage streetbike.
Wide, sculpted seating positions create a larger area of contact for excellent weight distribution. Shaped like your body to eliminate pressure points and give long lasting support that will keep you in the saddle all day.
Corbin’s rigid fibertech basepan provides a perfect fit and is built to hug the frame. This allowed us to create a foam shape that keeps you in the sweet spot which provides a better center of gravity and more positive feeling of control. Deep, supportive bucket design gives over six inches of vertical support (15″ with backrest installed). All of this adds up to a very relaxed posture and comfortable ride so you’ll be able to go out and put serious miles under the tires.
Inside, our exclusive Comfort Cell foam provides firm support that stays resilient indefinitely. We cast this special Closed Cell material nearly twice as firm as the stock foam to support your body weight. Soft foam allows your body to fall through it the longer you sit on it… once compressed, soft foam offers no resilience and you start to experience discomfort. That’s why we always say “firm is a good thing!”
Both seating areas are designed to work with an optional Corbin backrest for added comfort and support. Fully adjustable to fit a wide variety of statures and riding postures. Internal hardware keeps a clean look and allows for adjustment without removing the backrest from the seat. Dual Tour works with a variety of Corbin backrest models. We recommend model #BR (shown) for a very good blend of form and function.
Corbin passenger seat is designed to keep within the same area as the OEM seat, so it should work with many trunks and rear packs. However, we are unable to test all configurations and accessories, so please review the photos carefully! We also include a photo of the underside of the seat if you click on the NOTE tab. Naturally, the Corbin backrest will most likely not work in the rear if you have a trunk installed.
All components include a wide selection of material options. We prefer leather or Alcantara in the seating because it is durable, will breathe with your body and adapt with the foam shape as it breaks in. Vinyl side panels help to support the foam shape and keep the cover looking nice longer. Color and texture options are available at no additional charge. Shown here: Charcoal Alcantara seating with Black stitching, Trexx Gear stud bands and side panel, Brushed Aluminum welt and Silver Corbin logo.
Dual Touring saddle offers the option of electric seat heaters for an added bit of luxury. Connecting easily to your factory harness, the Corbin seat heaters are controlled via conveniently located switches along each seating position on the left side. Heat level is maintained automatically by integrated controller. You just plug in the Corbin pigtail and enjoy the warmth on those chilly morning rides.
Simple installation uses tabs in the front and the factory key lock at the rear. If you opt for electric heat, we include a wiring pigtail that integrates with the stock harness.
