Notice how well the saddle fits to the tank and fender and provides two large seating buckets that don’t overpower the bike visually. We sculpt each seating area for proper weight distribution and allow long range capability. Generously contoured platforms eliminate hot spots and centralized pressure that causes discomfort. On the inside, our exclusive Comfort Cell® foam material gives firm support that conforms to your body. And as an added bit of luxury, we offer the option of electric seat heaters for those chilly morning rides.
Dual Touring Saddle accepts optional removable rider’s backrests for added back support. Our backrests are fully adjustable to provide a tailored fit to individual’s posture. Support hardware is internal to the saddle to keep a clean look without external contraptions. In the front, we’ve engineered a second adjustment that allows the position of the rest to be adjusted fore/aft. This special hardware also allows the backrest to fold down to ease mounting the bike.
Due to the limited seating area, on this model we recommend using a single backrest transferred front to back as needed. Installation is easy enough to make this possible at a moments notice. Simply slide the backrest shaft into the built in hardware and secure it in place with the provided setscrew. There is no need to remove the saddle from the bike for this procedure. Once the backrest is installed, all adjustments can be performed without removing the saddle. Like the saddle itself, Corbin backrests are shaped to fit the curve of your body for better fit and greater comfort.
As you can see, the ergonomic design of the Dual Touring saddle also gives a nice flowing shape on the bike for a clean look. Inside the saddle, Corbin’s Comfort Cell® foam provides a nice firm perch that supports your body indefinitely and doesn’t cave in like softer materials. Comfort Cell feels firm when you first ride on it, but it is this support that gives you day long comfort. That’s why we always say “Firm is a good thing”. Notice also, the amount of vertical support offered by the bucket design of the Corbin saddle… over 6 inches of vertical support or 16″ with the backrest installed!
We use genuine leather seating panels for a luxurious ride that breathes with your body. Our tasteful stitch pattern comes standard for an added bit of flair. Leather is extremely durable and will break in along with the foam shape to conform to your body. Be sure to care for your leather saddle properly with a quality conditioner like our Saddle Cream. This will help the hide to resist the elements and remain supple. The leather seating will conform along with the foam shape and provide a personalized fit to your posterior. Over time, your leather saddle will develop its own unique character just like your leather jacket does.
If you’re looking to add a little storage space to your Thunderbird how ’bout that cool new glovebox for the rear of your backrest (#02-S & #297 models only). Designed to carry four liters of your essential stuff like cell phones, spare gloves, bottled water, maps, camera and sunglasses. Constructed of durable ABS and painted gloss black for a perfect finish. You can leave this mounted on your backrest full time or swap it with a regular finishing plate as needed. Optional Corbin seat heaters are completely built into the saddle so they’re simple to install. We include everything you need to wire into your stock harness and enjoy heated luxury on those chilly morning rides. Two position switch allows you to choose high or low setting that is maintained automatically. Separate switches controll rider and passenger seating areas. Saddle installation is simple and uses a single bolt into your fender at the rear.
